That's a good question. When David Vollant beat Barasso over the shoulder in Game 7 OT to end the 1993 run, it took me 4 weeks to get over the depression. That team was so good, maybe the best Penguin squad ever to take the ice, that the loss stung for very long time.

On Sunday, I watched until there were less than 5 minutes left and couldn't take it any more. I could tell they weren't going to score again and they didn't. I thought I had moved on from this by Tuesday, but watching the Craps knock off Boston last night just made me mad all over again.

Nothing makes me crazier than wasted human potential and that's what this series was. We should have never lost to those bums.

I guess when Philly and Washington get knocked out I might be able to live with this. But until then it really, REALLY, REALLY SUCKS.

wow. the hesitation on his last answer was really eerie. We may be watching a completely different hockey club next October. This summer should be interesting.

Crazy thing is, MAF plays like he's capable of, and none of this discussion is happening right now. You can tinker with the team all you want, but if your goaltender doesn't step up, you're toast either way. 2012-2013 needs to be the year of the MAF.

BUT, at the same time GM RS needed to visually & vocally support his team after the 4/1 game.

Honestly the older I get the less emotionally invested I get. Just so many other things going on in life. Hockey is just a game.

I find this happening to me as well. About 10 years ago, I'd still be bothered. Now, it's "meh" and I move on.

Same. It was a little more than an hour, and I was more fired up about this series than some past losses, but it is what it is. More important things to worry about.

No, everyone is to blame that the goalie is a miserable failure now in 3 straight seasons. He seems to be the guy getting the least blame though, which tells you how much folks on here understand about what soft goals do to teams in the playoffs.

Fluery's history suggests a guy whose best playoff seasons came when Crosby and Malkin both excelled, and he played more good games than bad ones in those runs. That is the best that can be said of his playoff record. He has never ever had a playoff where he was solid every single night.

I'm with the boss and for the same reasons. Three games into the series, I kind of accepted we were going to lose. Then a little hope appeared when we won our first one, but I wasn't surprised in the end. And I really don't like seeing these years of Crosby/Malkin wasted by either bad luck, as with the injuries, or a few players that aren't pulling their weight and screwing it up for everyone else. It would be one thing if we played a great series against a great opponent and lost, but this debacle was sad and embarrassing.
