Malkin nominated for the Hart

Postby Malkamaniac on Fri Apr 27, 2012 11:14 am

along with Stamkos and King Henrik

Henrik will win the Vezina, and it shouldn't even be compared when it comes to Stamkos and Malkin.

unless a goalie is SO much better than anyone else, never should they be nominated for the hart. i don't think henry's season fits that bill. stamkos is great, but too much a sniper and not much else imo.

Stamkos is pretty awesome and more than just a sniper. If Tampa had made the playoffs, it'd be a close call, imho.

i acknowledged he is great, but 60 and 37 are sniper #'s. very brett hull'esque. he's a shoot first player. not a knock, just what he is. the fact tampa missed the playoffs factors in too. giroux should have been the nominee over stamkos.

Yeah, goalies shouldn't win the Hart unless the circumstances are exceptional. Tampa Bay didn't make the playoffs so no Hart trophy for Stamkos. Easy win for Malkin in my opinion.

Pretty much seals Hank up for the Vezina, although I think that one should go to Quick.

But hey, its always fun to read the Pens FB page comments when they post stuff like this

- Only player over 100 points, check;
- Won scoring title by 10+ points, check;
- While playing less games, check;
- 50 goals, check;
- But didn't score the most goals;

I would be extremely surprised if he won the award (not a typo).

I'm hoping that the chances my pick of Malkin to win the Hart at 12-1 odds have increased. I just don't want to have to wait until mid-June to find out!!

Henrik is Vezina. Tampa didn't make the playoffs. This is Geno's. Next.

That's nice, but it's hard for me to find any joy in hockey-related news since we lost to the Flyers.

Yeah, individual trophies are lame, ask the Caps.

Malkin was completely dominant, so I assume that means that Ovechkin will be getting the award again.

Malkin will be ashamed to accept this award. I'm pretty sure that when he gets on the flight to Vegas, Sean Coturier will be seated right next to him.

Yea, you right. But Malkin will have some relief when he goes to the lavatory, since there is only one seat in there. :lol:

in hockey I've seen where stars freququently get off of their games from a player out of the blue~ I've seen the best; Mario in 93. And I do believe Mario showed up for his awards.

I wasn't taking a shot at Malkin, only stating that knowing his persona he is not going to relish the MVP award after that playoff. It's actually a compliment.
