Who's the Penguins most forgettable captain?

Postby Bunkerman535 on Wed May 30, 2012 7:07 am

Just thinking about former Penguins captains. Which captain gets the least recognition years later? Dan Frawley comes to mind, not a great player but tons of heart and toughness.

Steve Mckenna no doubt.

Someone on this board will say then how did you know he was a captain?

Crosby's captainship during the second half of 2010-11, and the first 3/4 of 2011-12 was pretty forgettable.

I vaguely remember seeing Kelly Buchberger with the "C"...but I might be totally making that up.

Not sure how Mckenna can be the most forgettable captain when people remember he served as captain.

I remember that he was captain, but honestly cannot remember him wearing the 'C'.

Well... I'd agree in that he's probably the most publicized non-named wearer of the C in a game, but at the same time, he's so memorable in that one game role that it's not quite forgettable.

In the end, it's hard to doubt he's the winner, unless Buchberger really wore the C for a game.

Depends now what context we're using the word "forgettable" in here...

If it's forgettable in the sense of "Didn't accomplish anything at all," then it's definitely McKenna.

But if it's forgettable in "No one remembers it happening," then no way is it McKenna.

The way the OP phrased it, it almost seems like he's going for the most "forgotten" Pens' captain (least recognition), not the suckiest.

Mike Bullard, given the thread from LGP last week...51 goals and not a GWG -- forgettable underachiever, not a leader in my eyes.
