They are also not as awesome as they once were. At least we roared out of the playoffs the last 2 years. They've limped....

If Holland is unable to land Parise, I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Semin ends up there. The Red Wings certainly are not afraid of European players.

I dont hear alot (any)of teams preparing to 'make a heavy push' for Semin as you do Parise, Suter.. I wonder what kind of deal he will actually be offered in the NHL.
Personally I think KHL offers him twice as much and he heads back to Russia. I just dont see anyone giving him 6 million like the made the last 2 seasons for what hes done in those 2 seasons.

There's probably going to be a team or two needing to take on significant salary to reach the cap floor.

TSN Radio 1050 said yesterday that the Wings are one of the teams that were told by management to go out and spend on players. We all know they will be first in the chase for Suter or parise.

I think, in the end, Detroit gets one and we get one. Who gets whom is up in the air.

I guess that means we'll both get neither.

I'm still confused by the fact that people expect Suter to be getting 8 ml and year.. This guy isn't exactly a Norris candidate, let alone WORTH .7 less than crosby/malkin

Everyone gets overpaid on July 1 when compared to guys that signed with their teams without testing FA, but 8 mill is ridiculous

Mike Babcock was interviewed during the draft and when the conversation shifted to Ryan Suter, he referred to him as a "generational talent". When Mike Babcock says something, I listen. I know there is going to a bidding war, but it will apparently be worth to whoever is lucky to sign him.
