I bet he signs with a team willing to give him more than 10 years. He's 28; can the Pens afford to have him on their payroll for 10 years at 7+ million? I'd say the Pens' offer caps at 7 years $54 million. He'd have to really want to join a potential winner to sign here (remember Hossa?). I don't know enough about his personality
though to say if that's a likelihood.

My guess is Min signs him for a huge front-loaded 12 years $80+ million.

If he goes to Minnesota then it was because he wanted to cash in. He will never win a cup there and they will never be able to build a team around him with the goofy money the GM is gonna throw at him. I like to think Parise is smarter than this.

I just don't see Detroit. No real reason but i think he wouldn't wanna travel and play in that dump. Also, the players are getting way older and his window there is relatively short.

I think it really comes down to NJ or Pitt and since i simply can't believe in this dream coming true, i will say he resigns in NJ an hour into free agency.

Who knows what the cap is going to be in 5 to 10 years, but its a safe bet to assume that his salary as a percentage of the cap will go down dramatically, if the the past 5 years are any indicator.

I don't see the need to sign Moore and put Vitale out of the lineup. Vitale had a great year and a poor playoff showing (he was a rookie and honestly looked like he may have been injured). Vitale is most certainly in the lineup. That Parise cap hit looks even worse paired with the rest of the team. Just no.

Signing a long deal with someone in their late 20's is usually a bad deal because you are signing them right after their peak and it's all downhill from there. Those are the contracts that cripple a team.

Well, Shero is clearing space for him or Suter and it's gonna take between 6.5 to 8 million for the Pens. Sorry, that's just the facts. And even going that high he still might not sign. I just pray that Crosby has been in his ear as much as everying is saying. He will have to leave money on the table to play here, that's for sure.

Well, we are all really worrying about nothing honestly. If Shero does sign him, to whatever that number may be, Shero will have than number built into his game plan for the future of the team. Shero is too smart to get into a bidding war that will cripple the team for years to come.

And i can't see where most of you are getting suter for 5.5 or so. He is only .5 better than Martin. The guy will get a minimum of 7 and could get as high as 8.5
