"I don't want to be looked at as just a defensive player. I want to score goals and do things, too," Sutter said.
He's looking for more time on the power play and an increased offensive role. Sound familiar?
...And he wants to play with more talented players. Well, Brandon, say hello to Tyler Kennedy and crazy ol' Matt Cookie Monster.
This thread is all in fun. Much luck to you BS. Your $2 m cap hit fits this team just right.

Sutter only got 0:26 of PP time/game last season. Staal got close to 2:00/game of PP time as our 3rd line center over the last 4 seasons. The Pens draw a lot of penalties and Sutter will get a decent amount of time on the 2nd unit. Plus he'll be playing on the third line with Matt "the goal" Cooke and Tyler "mr. assist" Kennedy. Sutter has a good chance to score 20+ goals and it's not out of the question that he could get close to 25.

Sutter will score 30 goals this season. Write it down, you heard it here first.

No way I'd trade for Staal when we can get him for nothing as a UFA next summer.

Maybe he has a sucky season in Carolina then wants to run back to us with his tail between his legs, begging to take him at a reduced salary.

Get this: Jim Rutherford was on NHL Tonight last night... they were talking about Staal's age... and he says "If he makes it to UFA next year, he will be the youngest free agent we ever had".... um... what? And the host guy mentions that it was rumored he turned down a 10 year 60 mil deal - Rutherford says yesterday they began to talk to Staal's agent about signing an extension... and Staal's agent mentioned to him that indeed he was offered a 10 year deal for 60, and that's kind of what he wants to go from. Rutherford didn't sound very happy about it.
But yeah he mentioned that Staal is very happy to be here yadda yadda... something else interesting: Rutherford said that Eric had Jordan in Raleigh a while ago and was "showing him around".

The league needs to fine Eric for tampering.

What Eric did to get Jordan can't be tolerated!
Anything Sid does to get Parise is commendable!

Oh, I'm sure there is at least one poster on here who will set you straight on that. Commence the countdown...

If Sutter didn't want to play better to get an increased role I'd worry. If it gets to the point again where he's knocking on top line minutes the worst that will happen is we can move him for more picks prospects and a new 3rd line center.
