Those 2 descriptions don't mesh. Like hartnell, if you're capable of that level of dbaggery on the ice, there's something wrong with you in real life.

Pens fans used it with Cooke for the longest time
Also, obviously a MUCH different level but a guy I played with for years who was the nicest guy ever was the diritiest hockey player I ever knew (although I suspect he just didn't know how to to check properly (always went with elbows up / literally "knocked out" a couple people))

What's wrong with Hartnell in real life? By all accounts, he is a really nice guy, and he has even played along with opposing fans. There's a huge difference between Hartnell (a skilled agitator) and Subban (someone that has zero regard for the safety of his fellow players). I like Hartnell.

I have on video mind you PK's little bro ignoring a 5 year old kid who came up to him for an autograph before the draft--straight just walks away from the kid. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

Hartnell is one of those guys that I would like as a Pen but hate as a Flyer.

There are a lot of those guys in the NHL. Cooke is a great example, and I've heard lots of good things about Hartnell off the ice too.

When you take the jersey that he wears out of the equation, what is wrong with Hartnell on the ice?

Biting people isn't something I really want in a player.

I really don't want a player punching another player in the crotch when they're already doubled over, but I'm not going to let one incident cloud my view of how someone acts.

At least the recipient was wearing a cup. Although a guess a glove on the hand is close to the same level of protection.
