One question.. Do the players ever get to a point where they will vote on something... Or is there a comittee under Fehr that will vote on something. Cause if Fehr has total control, we will not have hockey this season.

Better than that Russo guy from Minnesota who thinks everything that's happening is bad and no good can come out of anything, then claims "sources" say nothing is going well, even though he's the only one getting these "sources"...

Seriously, he looks like the only person covering this who "knows" how talks went before anyone says anything. Much more inclined to believe someone who doesn't write for a local paper.

Friedman says he was told by a player that they knew it would be leaked if he told the PA, and they didn't want details going public.

Told that PA proposed that players get last year's share plus 5 pct this yr regardless of schedule length/actual revenue...

Last year's share was 1.883B...plus 5 pct would be $1.977B...would likely eat 65-67 pct of revenue in 66-68 game season.

Incapable of seeing what?? We know the Hierarchy of the owners, Bettman works out a deal, puts it up to a vote to the owners. Its either shotdown or accpeted.

My question is what is the Hierarchy of the players??? Fehr works out a deal, what happens after that?? That was my question.

Because just about everyone on the players' side (meaning the players and Fehr) has denied it. Also, see what I posted earlier.

Minor points:

- Not sure what the NHL is allegedly lying about, I'll need that explained.
- Russo is a quality reporter with good sources. Has been for a while. I'm not sure what he's done that makes people believe otherwise - maybe I missed something - but just because he's not saying what you want to hear doesn't make him bad at reporting or illegitimate...
- The terrorist is still fighting for de-linkage it looks like. Evidently, a recent proposal saw the players get 57+5%...57+5 rarely works out to 50%...very rarely.

NHL is trying to drive a wedge in the players by saying Fehr is hiding parts of the deal from them, when just about every player involved is saying everything is transparent to them.

Not sure how that isn't lying.

It sounds like the league is saying: Fehr is making interpretations of proposals and sending out his feelings on it without a full-text of a proposal for full evaluation. That's what it sounded like to me. No telling if that's true or not.

Additionally, why would the players show anything but unity by just saying, "yeah, we're informed on everything" ...not saying the players are lying, but, no one from the union is going to go, "hey! this isn't right" at this point in the conversation, that's just silly...

What is so depressing is the sheer inevitability of the whole situation. And knowing that when the next CBA expires there will, of course, be another lockout.
