Meetings over, S. Fehr and Daly spoke to the press together, which is kind of telling IMO. Didn't say anything earth shattering, but they are meeting tomorrow morning before the BOG meeting.

My favorite part about the comments section of these sites is the incredible number of people complaining about the players "wanting more money". The world would be a better place in the future if they were sterilized.

So if this works out, do we have to thank/commend/congratulate Bettman for "sacrificing" himself to get Donald Fehr out of the way? That's certainly one way to interpret the latest developments.

If they made a good amount of progress in one meeting as reported then this really reflects poorly on Bettman or Fehr.......or both. In the end we will never know who was the real problem but it will be clear as day, no doubt about it someone screwed this all up. Really sad if you think about it.

So what is Lemieux doing going a board of governors meeting? I thought he never went to those.

With pressure on #NHL and #NHLPA to still get in a 60 game reg season expect some form of proposal and counter proposal by end of day.
We'll know if culture of compromise is in the room if proposals are not rejected 5 mins later.

If NHL players and owners don't come out of their meeting with good news, they'd better have prepared one hell of a Gangnam Style flash mob.

After reading some of those comments in that article, I felt I had to quote myself from yesterday

Now told very good chance Bettman will not meet media today as scheduled. Not going to talk while negotiations are in progress.

I'm not so sure the flash mob isn't mandatory either way

Great article. Those outside of Pgh that don't see how this organization works can now possibly see.

Don't get too happy about the Penguins helping bring everyone together. If Burkle/Crosby/whoever from the Pens is responsible for getting a deal done, the Flyers could go on to win the Cup and it would all be because the Penguins saved the season for them

Won't happen. The NHL will fix the season so the Pens can win it.

Yep, the Penguins are just so bad that even when it is fixed for them every year they rarely do. Team is a joke tbh, should just move them to Kansas City.

I know that for me personally this lockout has changed my perception of the players for the worse and dulled my enthusiasm for NHL hockey. HOWEVER, if somehow a deal gets done on the heels of yesterday's meeting- a meeting in which all seem to agree Crosby and Burkle were the 'voices of reason' - it will make my returning to hockey, specifically as a Pens fan, much smoother. I have been extremely worried about coming out of this with an actual dislike for our own players, something that I felt could potentially turn me away from the game and team I love.
