Don't read to much into this, it would look like he was bargaining in "bad faith" basiclly a legel term lawsuits use to show another agenda was being followed.

But a simple vote and they can give it to him again.

But if he were the spawn of Satan, he would've done it, or so you tell everyone.

Still 7-8 unresolved issues between both sides but big ones are Year 2 cap, length of player contracts, pensions...

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun
On CBA length: NHLPA willing to go to 10 years with opt-out after Year 7; NHL at 10 years with opt-out after Year 8

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger
Some players are concerned the league is digging in post-disclaimer deadline. New vote about to begin. PA will use disclaimer if necessary.

7-8 issues shouldn't take longer than the 7 or 8 days they have left to figure out (key word: shouldn't).

I thought they agreed before that contract length would be 5 years or 6 if its your own free agent?

I guess there really is no reason to believe they'll reach an agreement much earlier than January 11.

Once the "deadline" was set and they actually started talking consistently, I thought everyone knew it was going to that date.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger
Many reporting on HRR discussions and allegations the NHL failed to identify alterations to specific articles, deeply concerning for pa.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger
League source says all "changes" to Article 50 were highlighted and flagged and the union has had docs for a week.

I recently picked up my old copy of "Thinking Strategically" from my game theory class. 3 chapters in and a lot of their back-and-forth behavior started to make sense. No doubt it will go down to the wire.

The back and forward banter from both sides is starting again. And really, none of know what is truly going on. Just get a deal done.

The NHL is the only North American professional sports league to cancel a season because of a labor dispute, losing the 2004-05 campaign to a lockout. A 48-game season was played in 1995 after a lockout stretched into January.

Does every writer that is doing an article on this issue just need a closing and copy and paste that?

Should add though, as @aaronward_nhl tweeted this morning, that the HRR issue was resolved this morning.
