buying off a random Philly doctor to save face" rumor.

Now only if Orpik and Rossi get fired we know the infamous team meeting was true.

Dejan said that the players had a team meeting about having a new captain while Crosby was out after a losing streak (claimed he hear it directly from a great source or player I think). Team denied it. It became a big deal in the media and you know how it goes. Penguins players all were a "c".

Then people either quoted Dejan or a a penguins player depending on which side they chose to believe.

At some point around there Rob Rossi was removed from the Pens beat to something else, it came out the Pens were upset with him over the Crosby ordeal, it was denied they did anything, the Trib said he was promoted, and a few months later now he is back tweeting. Who knows.

I really don't think that Z was traded because of a meeting that did or did not happen, but it certainly seems that Penguins staff are being shuffled to appease Crosby...as they should. I am actually shocked that this did not happen sooner. The team-wide concussion debacles over the last two years have been ridiculous.

I frankly have never understood why the Pens stuck with Chip Burke for so long anyway.

And I have no problems with Sid wanting his own PR man, and a better medical staff. The better medical staff benefits the entire team. The Pens are now only the second NHL team that will have its' own physician travel with them on the road.

Dejan doesn't explain anything here. He makes two dots, but doesn't connect them. After Sid signed his below-value contract, the Pens also signed Tanner Glass, and Zach Parise also signed with Minnesota. Don't you see what this means? Sid was behind both of these events!

Maybe the Pens were unhappy with Burke's handling of Sid, or maybe they just saw what the Steelers were doing with UPMC and decided that would be a good model to follow. We just don't know. But it is entertaining to see the conspiracy theorists coming out of the woodwork.

Yeah I feel bad for him, but he has a good resume to land something. He has a family, so being out of work is tough I am sure. It's hard to say what Sid's issue was with him, but it does appear that was what led to his firing.

Conspiracy theory:
Does anyone else think that there is a resentment from players regarding the Pens preferential treatment towards stars, mainly Sid? I know star treatment occurs everywhere, and none of us have any personal connection with the Pens to know if this is true, but, a part of me thinks this approach dilutes the team concept and is damaging. Although, it really has been the Pens way of doing business for the last 25 years.
