I don't think it looks bad or good. I think you're being a little premature.

The Penguins are not like the Rangers or Wild in the respect that they didn't need to add serious parts.

The Penguins traded away a weak link and cap killer in Michalek. IMO, the Penguins really only need to tweak their line-up.

So you say things don't look good thus far with that freed up space not being utilized, but Shero doesn't have to be in a rush.

2007: Dominic Moore for the pick that became CP-Z.

I'll go with this one, not because of the return or anything, but just because Moore killed the Pens in 2010 with the Habs and 2011 with Tampa in the playoffs. Was so happy he went to the western conference this year...

I don't get how he bounces from team to team. He's a serviceable player, never makes a huge amount, and I've never heard or read any issues about him in the room. Yet every year he is looking for work and bouncing from team to team

not sure how the poni trade was bad considering we won it. caputi was a turd prospect who STILL isn't close to cracking a nhl lineup 2 years later, and they even took skoula off our hands to clear a roster spot. poni was undoubtedly a bust, but we didn't give up anything of value for him

I agree. IFRC, Moore wanted out because he wasn't satisfied with his role. I always liked him and thought that he was a great fourth liner that could move up to the third if needed.

Wasn't the deal basically that Talbot's emergence left him with most of the duties they'd envisioned for Moore, bumping him from 3rd line center to 4th? Christensen too as that was his one banner year with like 20 goals and The Shootout Move.

Lines when Moore was shipped out were something like

Staal-Malkin-Ouellet
Christensen-Talbot-Armstrong
Ruutu-Moore-Petrovicky

Agree. Article grasps at straws. Also it's inaccurate:

Take a look at the Penguins’ current roster. Craig Adams was born in Brunei but raised in Calgary. That leaves Evgeni Malkin as the only skater born outside of North America.

What about Vokoun? I know he's not a "skater" but why ignore the fact that he's not North American? Oh, to make a silly point, that's why. Not sure why everybody loves Colligan so much.
