What time, you say? Deadline time, of course. There's got to be a team out there that would trade for either Recchi or Leclair, one looking for scoring depth up front. Both can still produce on the power play, as well as chip in the odd even-strength goal.
As for Gonchar, while I've pretty much resigned myself that no one will want to take on his salary, if he keeps playing like he has the last couple of games, I wouldn't be averse to his staying a Pen. But that's a BIG if.....
Gonchar has been the least of this teams problems.
Trying to play him in the "all around d-man " role was wrong from the start.
Don't get too excited about the trading deadline anymore. Too many stipulations with the new CBA.
You just can't dump salary and teams can't load up anymore before the playoff run.
There may be interest in LeClair or Recchi, but don't hold your breathe on them leaving town.
