i don't know...i keep thinking of the plane crash last year, and the reports that it wasn't uncommon to use beat up old junkers for team charter flights. it's probably a little representative of the KHL vs NHL lifestyle.
i think we're getting a little away from the point though. do you think guys come over here simply for the fame?

No, they come over for the money. Or go over, I should say.
And while I'm not too keen on living in Russia for various reasons, I don't think the plane crash is in any way representative.

I agree, and this supports my point. I really don't think the American lifestyle influences anything. Malkin lives a rock star life in Russia - at least he can if he wants. Money and fame are the only reasons to come play in the NHL. Geno loves trophies.
I would say, actually, that many European players would prefer to have their families in their homeland rather than here.
