I see that Matt Greene is done for the season. Now the Kings need a defenseman and the pickings are slim right now. Maybe we can supply them with a defenseman and a prospect or draft pick and bring in Dustin Brown who can play either wing. Move Kunitz back to Malkin's line and let Sid have Dustin. He hits everything that moves and would give Sid some room to work which is sort of what Kunitz does now. He makes 3.5 million so maybe it's time to part with Martin who's stock is at an all time high right now and end this Tangradi experiment. Hell, through him in the deal but we can afford to lose a defenseman right now and could pick up a rental at the deadline if needed. Dustin Brown would fit right in...sort of another James Neal type player that would be a fan favorite for sure. I'm just day dreaming because I have watched him for a long time and this would be the big body that Sid needs on his line. Time to wake up now!!!!

Maybe we can add 'future considerations' to the diddly-squat to make it happen...

Make Kennedy captain of the team. Trade him for Brown. Captain for captain must be fair no?

It would be great to have Brown, but sending Martin now creates a big hole in the defense.
My guess is, if Shero decides to upgrade a wing, it will be a highly considered defense prospect for a mid-range contract like Brown's that is in either it's last or second to last year to a fringe or out-of-contention team. The Kings, looking to repeat, are not going to move a top six forward (captain no less) fresh off a Stanley Cup year, for a prospect.
I don't know who it will be, if anyone, but I can't see it being Brown.

The winger for Sid BS has got to stop. Sid has two wingers and they're both more than capable of playing with him.

When I see this brought up. I am so confused. It would take Neal or Letang to get them to start listening about trading Brown away. They'd be asking for more though.

Makes a lot of sense to trade Martin now that he looks like the player we wanted and needed.

I'd love it. Shero would love it. Bylsma would love it. Sid and Malkin would love it. LAK wouldn't love it.

That's BS. When the Pens make a trade, you can trade junk for a star.

In defense of the OP, the Kings were looking to deal a slumping Brown at the deadline last season and the Penguins were a rumored partner. His value then likely was a bit lower than it is now -- though it still was higher than the OP projects. At this point, though, I would assume DB is untouchable after leading his team to an unbelievable Cup run. He's invaluable to the Kings, and like many players on the Pens, his value in a trade likely is less than his value to his current team, which means he won't be traded.
