What a Fool I Was

Postby joe on Tue Jan 22, 2013 6:03 pm

A few weeks ago i posted here that i would not pay attention to the pens this year during the regular season. Do you know how long that lasted? I started watching the first period last sat vs the flyers and i was back!

How foolish of me to honestly believe i would turn my back on a team that gives me so much joy and a welcome distraction for a few hours.

I was mad at the nhl for the strike. I was mad at the pens for folding vs the flyers in last years playoffs. Then staal was traded. Paul Martin is back. Would the pens be any better? Well it's only two games
but they sure look great.

What's most refreshing sid and geno have not scored a goal and the pens are winning.

One player i never doubted is MAF. As he goes so goes the pens.

I apologize to everyone here for being a fool. Go pens. I'm thrilled they are back!

Homer: "Oh, it's that record club. The first nine were only a penny. Then they jacked up the price!"

I think if the NHL would have lost the whole season, fans would have left in droves simply because they would have found other things to occupy their time and interest.

Two full seasons lost during a very short span would have not necessarily killed the sport but it could have pushed it to the brink of extinction in some markets.

It's like what Mike Babcock about losing another full season, he said we would be reduced to being as popular as bowling. Have to agree.
