In the minds of most experts and fans alike, they have no excuses for ending any season without a championship

The Pens are a Hockey team. Stop with stupid MLB comparisons. Just dumb.

PghSkins wrote:The Pens are the Patriots. They have both won many games recently, in sports with a Salary Cap. Their nicknames have 8 letters, begin with "P" and end in "s". Both have had many very bad and very good seasons over their existence. Both played in dumps until recently when they both built new stadiums. Their team leaders are both among the most reviled players among other fans in their respective leagues.

yeah the penguins have hardly owned the league. 3 cups in the past 20 or so years is nice, but comparing the pens to the yanks conveniently omits the stretch in which the penguins were setting records for crappiness.

fans only show up when the team is good and boast about their fan superiority ad nauseum.

No I mean financially, they physically owned and controlled the league. I believe they owned the blackhawks at one point as well.
