It is a good deal. He blew out his knee last year, but has played well in the AHL. I'm not sure if he's a NHL guy, but good scoring depth for WBS.

Sneep also got traded...to DAL for a conditional 7th round pick. Gets us one below the max contract limit.

Huh? Lateral move seems. Close in age and production. Though Ferriero has slightly better production at AHL. Maybe Kolarik is better PKer?
And both drafted 7th round by Phoenix 2 years apart.

I'm the bolded. I don't like it that much, but it probably makes more sense for us. This is an endorsement of our bottom six forwards and an indictment of our scoring at the AHL level. Ferriero would have been fine on this team (in fact, I was looking forward to him getting a shot) in a bottom six role. Could have inserted a little on the fourth line if Adams was having a problem, if Jeffrey wasn't fitting, if Vitale wasn't being effective, whatever...

Strangely, Ferriero really trailed off in WBS it seemed...he seemed to be right in the thick of things there early in the season and then as the season went on, it just kind of...stopped...I guess...so maybe he wasn't as good of a fit as I predicted he would have been when we signed him. Exhibit Z of why I'm talking about the move on a message board and not in a front office I suppose. I believe WBS just added Tom Kostopoulos on a tryout, so I'm guessing that's the depth forward that WBS will use instead...

I quickly scanned my notes on obscure players, and I was positive I had something on Kolarik, but I guess that's on my old computer...back when he was a prospect...from what I recall, he's a minor league goal scorer, not very fast, not overly creative with the puck, every thing was just a step slow with him, one dimensional goal scorer without much speed at all. He's going to bolster WBS' scoring, but he probably won't be up with the big club unless there's some sort of epidemic.

Alot of moves makes you wonder if SHero is preparing for something?? I don't see anything drastic this early in the season, just a rental or 2 at the deadline. We got some cap space, sure Shero wants to get Letang and Malkin wrapped up in the offseason then see what he can spend on other players.

You mean like a world of warcraft type of acheivement??? Maybe he would get "The Sword of Tochett" that he can pass on to Tangradi. If he makes 2 more deals.

Thats something i've never done, so thats a good trade as far as i'm concerned.
