Just curious what everyone's thoughts are. There is a piece of me that misses him. He helps the Flyers PK and chipped in 19 goals last year along with 4 in 11 playoff games.

He seems to be too inconsistent. He had a great year last year, and he was really good for us in the 2009 playoffs, but he couldn't have fit in top six duty consistently for the payday he got. Which is sad, because he's one of my all time favorites.

.15/.23 goals per game regular season vs playoffs for Talbot and .21/.14 for Kennedy. Neither great but I'd rather have Talbot over Kennedy and that's the choice Shero made last year.

A friend of mine out of Philly said that the fans there are souring on Talbot and peg him as a potential buyout candidate for the Flyers. Of course, the biggest buyout name they have is Bryzgalov, but Talbot's contract always appeared to be one that they signed knowing the player wouldn't finish it with the team.

As a fourth liner, I would love to see him return to Pittsburgh someday -- of course, on the cheap.

He played on a line with Coutiere(sp?) and Voracek last night, shutting down the Rangers top line. Also, the Flyers are without Hartnell, Briere and Rinaldo.
So they aren't exactly healthy.

I hope I am wrong, but he seems to be the type of guy who is more valuable than what he appears to be, especially come playoff time. He was crucial in the Pens Cup win. With all the video, coaching, etc., teams are able to neutralize top lines when it really matters. It seems like you need that type of a difference maker come the playoffs.

He doesn't have the brain for the pk. But big deal. There's never a shortage of penalty killing forwards. They're a dime a dozen. You don't pay a premium for those guys.

So if a guy doesn't play PK he isn't good, but a guy who does, is? Craig Adams is better than James Neal then?
