A big problem for me is the disturbing trend of the Pens getting off to great starts and then completely shutting down afterwards. And this dates back a long time under Bylsma. The man can clearly get his team ready to play, which is important. But the Pens are constantly getting outplayed and outsmarted after 1st periods. Of course, the most glaring example is the Flyers series last year. And it had obviously continued so far this season.

Yes, grinders that don't grind as often as they should. Our grinders are all 5'11 and 195lbs or under which is also a concern.

I'm trying to discuss my disgust with the fact that we utilize the same game plan OVER AND OVER and expect it to work against every opponent, as if every opponent is the same

If the pens lose to the sens this Sunday, we could have the next cuban missle crisis here.

Also, I'd like to discuss my disgust with the complete invisibility of a few players in 5 on 5 situations, namely Cooke, Sutter, Adams

I think the Can't Win Em All'ers don't realize that there arent really any bridge jumpers in here.

I'd also like to discuss my disgust with the unwillingness of Penguin players to get to the dirty areas of the ice, both offensively and defensively

Depends. If the Sens just beat us, that sucks but that will happen. If we go up 2-0 and then forget to play basic peewee hockey then that's a problem.

You can't possibly win every game and Winnipeg played a very good game. Again, they are only 4 game in and are 2-2. Some players have quite a bit of rust on them. I'm pretty certain this team, with the talent they have will be just fine. Sunday, when they beat Ottawa, we can all breathe again.

I could buy the rust argument a little more easily if we were losing because the timing just wasn't there. If we saw people fanning on open shots, shaky goaltending, passes to players in open space but either a little too far in front or behind them, or things like that I think I'd be more forgiving. However, when I see less skilled lines refusing to cycle the puck, lazy turnovers, and a complete unwillingness to play physcial hockey, I don't see a shortened training camp being the culprit.

I fully admit I'm basing my negativity on a small sample space, but I'm basing it on what I see, not what the record shows.

historically, i'm no adams fan, but i think our 4th line is better than it's been in 2+ years. cooke, has made very visible mistakes, imo. as for sutter...jury's still out. safe to say that we've missed staal these last 2 games though.

Cooke was playing a new position, and he should never play RW again. He's horrible at it.
Sutter is still learning this team and got s sentinels a new line tonight with Cooke on the right and Glass on the left, that's tough.
Adams wasn't the slowest guy on his line, that's bad news for him since he needs t be the 1st guy into the zone now instead of cleaning up. Not his role. He was fine with Vitale and Glass.

Bylsma moving Tangradi screwed u a lot tonight.

He shouldn't dress every night. Almost anybody can block a few shots on the PK. Nobody in the entire system can supplant him? That's worrisome.

Meanwhile, Rob King is trying to set a name-butchering record.

Nice goal tonight by Milan Luke-ick.

Tough luck for Philly - they lost Mezzer-oss

Yes, grinders that don't grind as often as they should. Our grinders are all 5'11 and 195lbs or under which is also a concern.

This may be the biggest concern. Not to be a broken record, but the Penguins are just not a hard team to play against, and "Investment Hockey" is dead without guys who will cycle the puck and play a physcial brand of hockey.
