Fact is, when you put a guy on this line, HE MUST do the following.

- Be the deep guy, go get the pucks (make them easier to get), get it to the shooters
- Be physical, make room, ensure you have occupied a defenseman, and preferably the better of the two
- Make it hard for the goalie to see
- Be willing to stick up for the other two stars should tomfoolery ensue

These asks are not rocket science, and Kunitz did it marvelously last year. I don't think DJ has the jam/grit/sandpaper to do the ask.

Sure, you could "re-invent" the line, but let's not get too far away from a known good thing.

Ah, good point, he would ahve been in OK City this morning with the Checkers. But yeah, if he got to NYC for the game tonight and played, that woudl be funny.

yep. DJ was the best forward on the ice last game, which isn't saying much but he was noticeable every shift and some of the best scoring chances the pens had were created by him.

Jefferys played very well last night, need to see more of him on that line to believe he belongs there but last night was a great start. Geno had to of liked him, everytime Jefferys got the puck he put it on Genos stick.

late in the game , I saw evgeni try to set d jeffrey up coming down the slot. i think more players played in their natural positions last night; it showed. matt cooke- tk.

Tangradi is done on this team. Jeffrey at least can play 16-20 minutes physically. I'd have liked to see more speed and Boychuk might still bump him.

I don't think Jeffrey is the answer, but he's enough of a band aid to stay in the top 6 until moves are made. If the canes can waive a first round pick, I think we could send Tangradi down to WBS and feel ok about it if we need some roster space.

Kidding. At this point I don't care. We tried him everywhere and he's not fitting in. If he gets claimed, good luck to him. Hopefully he can get traded for something, even conditional.

Obviously, DJ got the page. He was interviewed between periods, seemed really nervous. I feel for him, but he came through last night. This Boychuk signing is going to keep us busy for at least 5 games.
