At least he's Canadian...that's a big step for Shero.

At least he can skate - so maybe Shero is trying to fix the speed deficit through waivers.

All the wailing and grinding of teeth over a guy who hasn't played a game yet.

I just think Shero focuses way too much on US, and US program players. It's just my own personal opinion and think it's one of his downfalls. He needs to open up to Europe and Canada even more.

He's listed at 5'10"/185 . How undersized is that?

Not sure the data supports your claim. He hasn't drafted an American in the last two drafts and has drafted more euros in the last 3 drafts than Americans.

Im reading on Twitter that Canes fans seem to feel the same way about Boychuk as we feel about Tangradi for what its worth

Boychuck is a much better 4th liner than Tangardi and Jeffrey. Think of him as an alternative to Adams on the nights we need more speed.

Or he becomes a regular with Vitale and Adams, Glass becomes a fixture on the 3rd line and DB wises up and at least tries Kennedy with Sid and Dupuis and moves Kuntiz back with Malkin.

Really? Tangradi, Orpik, Niskanen, Lovejoy, and Vitale are the only Americans on the roster. The roster is almost 2/3 Canadian.

Kennedy is a black hole for the puck. Why would you put him on a line on which one of the best players in the world at playing with the puck plays?

Because him and Cooke were Crosby's best wings last year?

This is what I keep thinking (even though I know it's the gambler's fallacy). I can't think of players that came out of nowhere (i.e. waiver-wire pick-ups, really low draft picks, or cheap, UFA reclamation projects) to make a big contribution to the team since Adams. It seem like we have to be due.

Anyhow, I don't see the harm in picking up someone like this to compete with Jeffrey (21 pts in 68 career games) and Tangradi (5 pts in 45 career games).

To be fair, I don't think we've claimed anyone else off of waivers since Adams (or I at least can't think of any besides Cal O'Reilly).

Can't believe people still think Kennedy should be a top 6. All you need to do is see the body language of Malkin and Sid when he has played with them! As has been said; he is a 3rd liner at best. Even then, in an ideal world, Dupuis would be on the 3rd line. Life will, hopefully be so much better when the lines are: Bennett--Crosby--Iginla; Kunitz--Malkin--Neal; Cooke--Sutter--Dupuis; Adams--Vitale--Glass.

And O'Reilly was a re-entry waiver claim. Noone was willing to claim him off regular waivers when the Pens sent him down to WBS.
