A 5th + Ryan or Perry? If we throw in Tangradi I bet it would have got it done. Wake up RS!

THis is a relationship builder so we can try to be on ANA good side come trade deadline so we can acquire Perry.

Only given Shero's past deals. He seems to always be able to pull just a bit more (or even a lot more. see: Neal trade) with his deals. I'm happy with the trade though. Always nice to stockpile picks....

I liked Ben, but I like Bortuzzo better. Good luck out west, Ben!

I can't wait to see what non-Swede, non-Finn defenseman we draft with the pick!

Shero's hands were tied. I think Lovejoy's value was a little higher, but everyone knew Shero had to trade a D. Having 38 D on one-way deals can drive the price down for your guys.

It should be noted that this is why Strait was waived and not Lovejoy. Only one of them would be able to bring this sort of return.
Having said that, I'm kind of surprised that it was as high as a 5th. :shrugs:

Why did they call Reese, another waiver-eligible d-man, up?
Insurance?
