With two defensemen coming back from injuries I think it makes a lot of sense not to dress two rookies.

If either played scared or stupid like rookies then maybe but Bortuzzo and Despres don't look like rookies.

If we do happen to acquire a top 6 winger or pull of some trade at the deadline, I think Boychuk would be a good fit playing with Sutter and Cooke....have to move TK though...

Maybe. If anything I think they picked the wrong rookie to scratch. Bortuzzo has quietly played more solid than Despres, even if Simon has the "higher ceiling". Bortuzzo has been more consistent and noticeable in a good way. I think he's more NHL ready than Despres at the moment.
