Penner?

Postby The Current One on Thu Feb 14, 2013 9:03 am

Looks like he's done in LA. On a one-year deal currently, and although his work-ethic is always a question mark, he can dominate when he wants to. He was huge for the Kings in their Stanley Cup run last year, and with no commitment beyond this year, what would be the risk? Not sure what the Kings would be looking for, but the Pens do have a few d-men in their system....How about TK and Harrington? Penner's size would look good on either Sid or Geno's line.....

The risk would be having a high-prized guy on the roster whose work ethic is a question mark.

TK AND Harrington? For Penner? For Dustin Penner? The lazy, overpaid, fat ass? Who's making $3.25 million this season? Who had 7 goals and 17 points last season? Who now finds himself relegated to the press box on a nightly basis? Uhhhhhhhhh no. He's not even worth TK in a straight up trade.

This.

Tangradi for Penner would have been closer.

This is another grass-is-always-greener moment here on LGP. Don't want Tangradi, do want Penner AND want to give up one of our better prospects to do it. It's bizarro world sometimes...

Older, slower, more expensive Tangradi. Wouldn't even give up the 7th rounder for him given his salary.

Penner sucks. I would rather have a true PP QB, that being said I believe Mark Streit is in his final year with the Islanders and is relatively cheap @ 4.1M

Whenever a Pittsburgh Penguin fan makes a proposal in the future, you have to ask the question of...

'Can this guy get to our game?'

Not even a little bit, the guy is slow. If he can't cut it in Edmonton, he sure as heck won't cut it here.

Its Iginla or burst I'd say.

That was a joke, but Edmonton plays faster than the Pens do.

If Smyth were to come to the Pens, I wonder if he would have a press conference and end up crying again

WOW 6'4 245 lbs. Is he like super slow or something. He as a 30 goal season with a few 20 goal season as well.

Possible, but if he is super slow then pass. Sounds like a ideal guy to play the front of the net on the power play.

The Kings seem to think he's an ideal guy to eat nachos every game night.
