I'd rather see Despres, too, but I don't see why I should get all worked up over him being scratched. Or for that matter, why I should second-guess a decision by a coach whose winning % is way better than mine.

Still don't see why getting Bortuzzo PT is an issue, even if it is over Despres.

Gotta rest some of the young guys and get them ready for a playoff run, anyway.

People can question whatever the hell they please, but it doesn't make them any more knowledgeable or passionate than those who do not second guess every single coaching decison, especially after a win.

Who the hell is saying it does? And even if someone did claim that why would anyone give them the time of day

i'd rather have staal than sutter and picks - even knowing we'd lose him for nothing in july. i thought the same thing when the trade happened, and based on what i've seen so far my feelings haven't changed.

14-87-9
19 (or whoever)-71-18
24-11-48
46-27-10

58-2
7 (the good version)-44
47-4

this lineup is superior to the one we have now.

they ruled Weber stopped it before it went in and then he couldn't control it and it went into the net.

I don't think Weber ever controlled the puck though. And the puck may be over the line before he tries to fish it out.

I thought the puck was sitting on the line, and Weber knocked it in, but they only showed the replay in fast motion once or twice, so I dunno.

The overhead shot looks like it is already over the line at contact with Weber's stick. Weber was never in control, which is what would have been required to negate the assists.

The Vanek assist on the first Buff goal is very tenuous at best. Cooke made the puck airborne past Vanek, doesn't appear to change trajectory as it goes back to Ehrhoff at the point. Looks on surface as if Pominville deserves the 2nd assist.

It's really hard to tell. An argument could be made both ways (either because it was already across or Weber put it in).

If vanek is even sniffing at the art ross trophy come April, I'll eat my shoe.

You get home town scoring stats in your favor sometimes. The pens get it too. Phantom assists pop up for the home team.... crosby and malkin have gotten quite a few in the past.

just got home from the game. very enteraining. first niagara center is a nice little barn. plenty of walking room on the lower concourse.....not so much on the upper. chirping got a bit heated in the stands during the 2nd and 3rd periods. no fights or anything though. all in all a good time was had.

Lots of Pens fans, eh? I used to go more often to Pens/Sabres games when I went to school in Buffalo. Pens always had a good following at Sabres games. Today seemed no different.
