Just return from TSN site, lots of good will for Geno, and some truly cheap shots from Sens, Canucks, and anti-Cooke idiots. One cheap shot from Hawks fan, good year to stay out West "paper Tigers", 17 straight wouldn't happen if you came East.

Doesn't look too bad, nice to have a competent guy like DJ to step in. Though in an interview he said "I just want to be out there every night".
Anyone see him messing with Geno's skates between periods...?

I have a friend that's dating a pre-med student at La Roche college that said her dad once had a concussion, and he said that Geno's constant mouth-breathing eliminates the 'clenched jaw' precursor that exists in all concussion situations. My other friend (who made it to the semi-finals on Jeopardy in 1997) actually theorizes that Malkin's mouth-breathing is a sign of a permanent concussion sustained when he was 5 yrs old...thus rendering him immune to any future concussions.
Geno's a Lamborghini...he'll be back tomorrow night.
You obviously have never owned a Lamborghini... Martin Havlat is a Lamborghini

How do we not only get the Orgnization to NEVER wear those stupid Jerseys again, but any of you morons who still wear them to games. It is beyond clear that the jinx exists.

Hell, i even remember callers on local radio saying Crosby is doomed and shouldn't play this season because he's only going to get killed out there.
I'm gonna go hide my head in the sand for the next 12 months.
This is directly related at you but I think the entire issue with Crosby was that the organization mangled it, from the diagnosis to the handling of the media. I mean if memory serves me correctly they even had Rossi taken off the beat because he asked too many obvious questions.
The Sid ordeal got to be pretty scary, he comes back after almost a year and has symptoms after playing a few games and not even taken hits. This after more than a handful of players missed a year, 2 years or didnt come back at all.
With Malkin, if it is just a concussion the handling of it, the reporting and even LGP comments will be fine. People just keep forgetting the reason the Sid Concussion Drama got out of control was because he had a broken neck.
Yeah, i have no doubt he will be fine but i just get a sick feeling from all the garbage that was out there and bad reporting from the Sid incident.
Agreed, I just meant more that the everyone remembers what a nightmare the Sid ordeal was and rightfully so. But it really was only a nightmare because they didnt catch the broken bone thing. The organization freaked out, all this misinformation, then secrecy, then anger at everyone like how dare they ask questions, he was skating, he wasnt, he is back, he is not up until the very end when they still never admitted he had a broken neck. From start to finish it was a mess.
If Geno has a concussion (no matter how long he will be out) it will be a much calmer situation. Unless, of course his symptoms are caused by something else.
Also, i wanna take this opportunity to apologize for my part in the previous concussion issue with Crosby and the misinformation that was out there. My source was legit but i'm not doing that again. Not contributing in any way to the mess that is sure to come. Sorry LGP's for all that stuff.
Thanks, but misinformation is not a "source".....

I know a lot of people won't want to break up the Kunitz-Sid-Dupuis line, especially with Malkin out, but if there's a world-class playmaker available for Neal to play with, I want him playing there. I don't really think he'll do too well with Sutter.

I do not recall seeing his head hit. It looked more like a whiplash type injury. This leads me to think there is an issue with the neck causing his symptoms, ala Sid. The focused on his head so much the forgot his early on comment about his neck. Geno needs to see the people Sid say at the end of his concussion like symptom saga.

Neal and Malkin have not been tearing it up this year at ES, so I agree that this is an opportunity to see how he clicks with Crosby. How many times a game do we see Sid skating down the side of the zone with his head up looking for someone to pass too? Maybe with Neal out there something might come of it.

Sids line is productive as is. Move Neal down to balance the lineup as much as possible.

Well hopefully everything the Pens learned from Crosby's ordeal will help them better diagnose and treat Geno. I expect him back before the end of the regular season at the latest.

I believe so. Definitely interested in what they might do over the course of a few (many?) while Geno is out.

I say leave Neal on 2nd for time being...
Kunitz Crosby Dupuis
Bennett Sutter Neal
is a lot harder to defend against than one super line and not even having a 2nd line..

We are traumatized by the Crosby ordeal. Concussions suck but guys routinely return in. 1-2 weeks. This doesn't mean Geno is out for 2 months.

They learned so much with what happened to Sid, one silver lining from that and Crosby's support and advice for Geno...they best be giving the neck meat a good look in addition to the head.
Poor Malkin.

Hope he gets well soon.

Well, you nimrods whom wanted Malkin benched for a few games will get your chance to see this team without Malkin's turnover and H'what not.
