Joe Nieuwendyk calls Ray Shero just before the trade deadline and wants to move Jagr since the Stars are out of playoff contention. If you are Shero what to you do?

If we were bidding for him as a UFA with a full season ahead of the team I would say no way. However considering his cap impact is minimal, its a shortened season, and you can put him on the third line with Sutter and give him some PP time, then I say its a possibility depending on what you have to give up in the deal.

It all depends on what we'd be giving up. If it were Kennedy and a second round pick. I would do it all day.

Dallas will be in the hunt all the way down... Why would they trade Jagr? He's tied for their team lead in pts. Maybe Morrow, but only if it's for a guy who can contribute.

It's not the worst idea in the world but I'm still really bitter towards him for what happened last offseason.

Safe thing to assume you did not follow things very closely then

If you are bitter, its your fault, not Jagrs.
But no idea bringing that into this thread.

If we need a hired gun for the playoffs, I have no problem obtaining a mercenary like Jagr. But as littlemoonboot says, it ain't going to happen.

It won't happen because their will be enough suitors to not force the 2 parties to consider it.
But this is the type of player we should look to pick up - short term and not worth a big asset. So even though its a dead end, it still has more life than any of the other trade scenarios floating around lgp.

We'd be absolutely loaded. I don't see how you turn down the right offer if you get it.

Does anyone in their right mind think Jagr will ever be in a Pens uniform ever again. No. Get over it. Seriously.

Yes:
He's even more attractive now that he's likely forever unavailable. (Sorry, wrong thread. NHR

)
The press conference would be...no words on how hilariously awesome it would be. And that would be before anyone asks Petr Svoboda anything.
