Listen to what he wants in return, but decline to make an offer beacuse Jagr doesn't fit the Pens style of play

Make a lowball offer knowing that somebody, most likely the Flyers, will outbid you

Make an agressive offer knowing its a minimal cap hit, and knowing Jagr will thrive with the RH Center Sutter

Ask instead for Ryder, Morrow, or Ray Whitney?

Dallas is in a low playoff spot and needs money, not sure they will be making any deals. Same if Phoenix and a few other markets, if close they can use playoff sales too, doubt they will be trading anyone that can help us.

Have to look at a limited number of teams in a month to get a good idea. Buffalo looks like a good starting point.

Per Neal trade, Dallas is only mad if they turned down other deals that would have ended up better. More of a case of getting something for a guy who was going to leave.

Call Niewendyk to inquire about Jagr. Jagr gets wind and says he'd accept the trade. Let Jagr get his hopes up. At the last minute make a deal for Morrow and Robidas instead, win the Cup, and tell Jagr to shove it.

Even if the Pens wanted Jagr, they'd be out-bid by a team that actually needs him. All other things aside, I'd hate to see the Pens lose a meaningful asset for a player they don't really need.

Jagr can play with Sutter. His coveted right handed pivot man.
