Game 19 vs Bolts - Thoughts from the Morning After

-I didn't see the team quit. I saw yet another horrible clear by Oprik that doesn't make it out of the zone and the Bolts capitalized after some more bad play. Orpik has been brutal when he makes mistakes and he's not hitting, not sure it would be smart to pay a lot to keep him in a couple years. And the call on Adams was a complete joke to give them a 5-3.

-Kennedy needs to be a scratch, he is not playing well and I want to see what Boychuk can do in a 3rd line role.

-Bennett is really good, needs to play with Sid more.

-Neal needs Kunitz, it's not Malkin that can't get anything with his LW, it's Neal. Malkin can play with anyone and succeed.

I'm pretty sure the only reason Kennedy hasn't been scratched is so that his trade value doesn't drop too low.

I want to see Cooke-Sutter-Dupuis as our 3rd line. All around solid.

-Congrats to Bennett, assist to HCDB putting him out 5 on 3 and instructing everyone to set him up
-Liked Bennett with Sid, Sutter with Dupuis and Letang with Despres, hope HCDB stops mixing it up when lines have obvious chemistry
-Martin is exuding confidence with and without the puck, wonderful contrast to, well pretty much every prior season!
-Nisky should be getting #1PP (with Martin) NOT Letang, whos ability to skate, pass and shoot join the offending player off the ice for 2 minutes.
-Said last game I couldn't believe Vitale sat, I love what he brings to the lineup. IIRC Adam's goals were direct results of Vitale's play and he nearly set up Glass (the new 'no hands'?!). IMO he is the ideal 4th line C for this system.
-I may be in the minority, but I'd like to see Boychuck with Sutter, think his style would mesh better than TK's.

I am just fine with Dupuis on the first line, but, if he clicks in this stretch with Sutter and Bennett can show some chemistry with Sid, maybe we can roll with something like:

Bennett - Crosby - Iginla

Glass - Vitale - Adams

If Bennett goes to Sid's LW full time, you need a guy with some size on the RW. Iggy could probably provide enough of that to make it work.

I associate RNR Part 2 with the Cup runs so I love having that be the goal song; blur I still associate with two straight disappointing seasons in CEC so I hate it. Crowd Chant by Satriani would be pretty awesome if we switched to something new though, I know it's not a "unique" one but it's pretty cool when a whole arena sings along to it.

How about some iteration of Shinedown - Diamond Eyes? I really liked when they used that song for the Pregame video a year or so ago and timed the hits with the music. That video seemed to get the crowd pumped more than any of the other ones I have seen (the current one is too techy or something, just really doesn't seem to get the crowd pumped up enough).

I like the blur song, but it does seem to be cursed at the CEC and I think the Pens feel that way too as they changed it during the playoffs last year. RNR part 2 is a big part of the Cup runs and it is hard to move away from it no matter how evil it's creator is...

I actually liked the song at one point...but I never want to hear it again. The video is so great.
