This isn't quite an apt comparison. IMO, Jagr was head and shoulders above Selanne throughout the 1990's. Yes, Selanne produced points when he was healthy, but I don't think he was ever a real threat to take the scoring title from Jagr. Whereas, in any given season, Crosby and Malkin can be battling for that title.
