The coaching staff has no faith in any defenseman not named Orpik, Martin, or Letang. And when they fall behind in a game it shows big time. They play those three guys so much that they have zero energy and start making mistakes themselves. Either the coaching staff has to put some faith in some of the other d-men or RS is going to have to get one they have faith in.

No faith in them because the other guys aren't very good. Niskanen is a #5 at best, Engelland is a #7, the rookies have potential but are very rough around the edges and should be no better than #6.

To think, they gave away Michalek and were prepared to do the same with Martin.

Again, nobody should be surprised that we look similar to the team that lost to Philly last postseason.

It's the same Pens team, only worse. Since the day we lost game 6 we have dropped Staal, Sullivan, Asham, and more...and replaced them with worse players. This team is worse than the team that lost last year in round1. No upgrades or improvements were made.

Shero has 13 million to spend and 3-4 players to add to this lineup. It's on him now to make the roster better. This is our worst roster since 2009.

A reminder to all..it's not about our record or seeding. What you need to be focused on is HOW we are playing. We need to be playing a winning playoff style. Playing the wrong way and beating the Islanders is great but we are projecting what this team will look like in the postseason, that's the only thing that matters.

Probably not. I don't think he should be safe, though. He hasn't exactly been hitting home runs lately and enough time has passed to see that his drafts have been pretty poor. It's getting to the point where this is his mess as much as anyone's. Other than the Neal trade, which was excellent, his work since spring 2009 has not been good.

I don't mind the draft's and signings. Problem with him (and Madden has brought this up numerous times) if that he's too safe and worrying about the future rather than now. Take that away I think he's done a good job as GM.

I think he's done a good job overall. He was outstanding from 2006-2009. He's mostly living off that reputation since then.

I'm not saying fire him now. But if he can't make moves to help fix some of the team's ills, it really should get to the point where you have to wonder about the job he's doing.

Overpay/Give up roster players to make moves to help the team.

He's probaly referring to the 09-10 season and even then that team is an improvement over this team. After all, that team actually won a playoff round.
