Evgeni Malkin was cleared for full contact (Sunday), went through the full practice and in the afternoon he took his ImPACT test and passed. He is cleared to play and will be playing tonight in the game vs. Tampa Bay.

From the Pens site...it would appear that Bennett being scratched is a very real possibility.

Evgeni Malkin is at morning skate with the team and skated on a line with James Neal and Matt Cooke. It doesn't necessarily mean he'll play, but it's a good sigh of his progress if nothing else. Paul Martin skated earlier in the day on his own in full gear.

Its not like HCDB hasn't been a line change experimenter his whole tenure with us as coach. We keep trying for a LW on Malkin's line, not sure why you wouldn't put Kunitz there where you know he has also had success and try Bennett with Crosby. Its just my instinct, but the way Bennett plays I think will work well with Crosby more than Malkin. Malkin/Neal are attackers. Crosby is a dissects the defense, Bennett goes to open ice and faces the play. Crosby will find him.

We keep trying for a LW on Malkin's line, not sure why you wouldn't put Kunitz there where you know he has also had success and try Bennett with Crosby. I doubt Bylsma would take Kunitz of the Crosby line with the way those two have been playing together.

Agreed. You don't break up the best duo in the NHL this season. Kunitz-Crosby and Malkin-Neal should be set in stone. If HCDB wants to try different guys out with them, so be it.

The problem is that taking Kunitz off Crosby's line is really going to limit it's effectiveness. You'd be breaking up the team's best line just to roll the dice and hope that it gets Malkin and Neal going, and if it doesn't then you've got 0 effective lines instead of 1.

So, Despres might sit also...You got to be kidding...There going to trade TK soon, I would think DB would keep playing BB. He had his best game and he sits him...for crying out loud. DB is trying to get Shero fired.
