Better this than healthy scratch, which looked like it might happen...

I do not like this at all, but at least he'll get playing time. He deserved more time up here though.

Hopefully Bennett can figure out how to age himself to be 28 before his next recall. Maybe he can grow a beard and be scrappy. Then Bylsma will play him.

He needs to get rid of a lot of skill too. Way too much ability.

Bennett showed some nice skill, but to be honest, I didn't see him as that much of an improvement over Boychuk. Time for CP to turn to Plan D - trade for an established winger.

It took to only the 6th reply from someone to blame the coach for Shero sending a player down.

Unless you think it went like this:

Shero: Hey, buddy, how about playing Beau more, especially in the top 6?
DB: What? Did you get my coffee yet?
Shero: No problem, Dan. While I'm at it, I'll waive Bennett.

Not a big deal. He showed a lot of promise, but could definitely use a bit more seasoning in the A.

As the world turns..... This franchise is crazy! They have a top 6 winger and what do they do? Get rid
Of them!

Beau is a FUTURE top 6 winger.

There's a clear difference between being one and having the potential to be one.

I don't have a problem with this, he looks like he needs a little more time in the minors. Maybe Jeffrey gets another chance with Malkin and Neal or they're going to make a deal soon.

yeah, i don't see this as a huge deal at all. give him a taste of the NHL. unless he exceeded expectations (which he didn't), send him back down with a new perspective and some new things to work on. then bring him up again whenever the next injury happens.

Probably a paper transaction for 24 hrs until Boychuk is claimed on waivers tomorrow. Doubt he really goes to WBS.

Not sayin', but Bennett's first trip to the NHL has gone quite similarly to Tangradi's. It's good timing, though, what with Malkin (his potential linemate) coming back from injury tonight.

Simply not enough room at the moment....I don't think the organization was prepared for Malkin to be cleared to play tonight. Since he had to come off IR they would have been over the roster limit without a move. Boychuk was waived today so he will be gone tomorrow at noon (either claimed or to WBS). It wouldn't surprise me if Bennett is back before Thursday's game.
