Agreed that he was not really progressing, but he shows promise for sure. Let's see if he goes back to WBS and steps up his game there.

He needs to get stronger, and it's been stated that he still hasn't gained 100% strength in his wrist. All in all, I'm ok with him going back.

I agree that Jeffrey will probably be the LW for Malkin I'd guess.

Hopefully Bennett can figure out how to age himself to be 28 before his next recall. Maybe he can grow a beard and be scrappy. Then Bylsma will play him.

He needs to get rid of a lot of skill too. Way too much ability.

He needs to practice shooting softly into the goalie's chest and taking bad penalties in the offensive zone.

If there is a trade brewing, I"m okay with that too.

It sounds like this is just a temporary thing until Boychuk clears waivers or is claimed. Which makes sense because Bennett looks like he belongs. He's contributing some offense and has handled the physicality of the NHL well.

Not a big deal. He showed a lot of promise, but could definitely use a bit more seasoning in the A.

yeah, i don't see this as a huge deal at all. give him a taste of the NHL. unless he exceeded expectations (which he didn't), send him back down with a new perspective and some new things to work on. then bring him up again whenever the next injury happens.

Yep, that's actually solid development strategy there. sure beats watching games from the press box.

I would have sent Bennett down if the plan is to play Jeffrey/Kennedy/Glass over him and kept Boychuk. Let Beau play in the minors if he was going to be sitting out up here and keep Boychuk as the extra forward. As is it looks like its going to be between Beau and Jeffrey fighting for playing time with the other guy sitting out. I like Beau and Jeffrey and I think Beau will eventually be the better player, but right now Jeffrey is the better goal scorer. I think he'll win out for playing time.

Pens could have put Martin on IR (short term fix), reassign Bennett, or reassign Despres.

That's the only moves, period, to get Malkin back on the active roster for tonight. Correct me if I'm wrong Mikey.

if he comes back up tomorrow, cool. he's definitely not hurting anything being up here. if not, that's cool too. i don't think his development is going to be killed by keeping him up or down at this point, but there is also no reason to rush him. like i said earlier, in my opinion he looks like he could use a bit of time in the AHL. But i'm really ok either way

Eh. We'll see what he becomes. He's not the same as berry or whoever that Joe Bagadonuts Dman was that we lost to the Caps on waivers. We were a crap team then with a horrible defensive corps.
I tend to agree that with others adams and Glass could be improved upon. With Cooke's age and TK being overpriced there could be numerous openings next year. As far as this season Boychuk being waived likeky doesn't matter.
