Lets put aside that Shero doesn't read this site and assume that he actually does. I don't think he's going to take any offense to anything you say about his decisions given your history of suggestions.

I'd day it's 50/50 that one of them is traded.
We just don't know which one, at this point.

I wish people would start putting Bylsma into trade scenarios.

I wouldn't trade Despres for anything less than a stud winger or a young but proven crease-clearing D. The ONLY reason I would trade Despres would be that we believe Letang can be re-signed and that we are SURE of Morrow. If we trade Despres, please let it be to the West so we don't have to watch him too often.....

Maata, Harrington and Poulliot are nowhere near sure things at their age.

Dumoullin is a nice player, but he is not a "no touch" guy.

Philly is going hard for him also....Not a bad thing to keep ramping the price up for Philly, Then acquire someone younger.

How about TK for Dorsett?

Craig Patrick still lives in Pittsburgh. I don't believe a word of any trade rumor crap

Keikolainen was there as was his assitant Mcfarland.....

Maybe Jarmo Kekäläinen and co. was just around to see how the NHL and other teams looks like today. After all he has been away from the NHL for som years.

Really? Depends on who it is for. I am not sure how old you are. But at one time the Pens had some of the best young defenseman prospects in the game:

1) Doug Bodger. Traded for Tom Barrasso
2) Chris Joseph. Traded in a package for Paul Coffey
3) Zarley Zalapski. Traded in a package that brought back Ron Francis and Ulf Samuellson

Edit/add. Ryan Whitney for Chris Kunitz.

The result? Two Cups. One Team.

Edit/add. Another Cup.

While you shouldn't just give away prospects, many teams fall in love with prospects who end up dying on the vine.

I saw Dorsett in Pittsburgh a few years back. He looks a little doughy at this point, and his skating was always suspect.

Trades sound so dirty. "I would do Player A and B for cash considerations" are my favorites. (Obviously NHR, but it was the most extreme example.)

That is exactly what I am asking, how is he a deal sweetener? There must be something I am missing.

You have to give to get. If we want a stud player, one of these guys might have to go.

I don't think any are untouchable, but isn't Dumoulin the closest thing to a shutdown -style guy in the system? I know Harrington had some of that in his game from what I've read, but he seems to be more in the middle of the spectrum. I'd hate the trade the only prospect of that type, when we have 3 or 4 D-men who are primarily puck-movers and more similar in style.

Columbus should be stock piling draft picks. Kennedy/Jeffery/2 or 3 rd pick for Johnson.
