I wouldn't trade Despres for anything less than a stud winger or a young but proven crease-clearing D. The ONLY reason I would trade Despres would be that we believe Letang can be re-signed and that we are SURE of Morrow. If we trade Despres, please let it be to the West so we don't have to watch him too often.....

Maata, Harrington and Poulliot are nowhere near sure things at their age.

Dumoullin is a nice player, but he is not a "no touch" guy.

Really? Depends on who it is for. I am not sure how old you are. But at one time the Pens had some of the best young defenseman prospects in the game:

1) Doug Bodger. Traded for Tom Barrasso
2) Chris Joseph. Traded in a package for Paul Coffey
3) Zarley Zalapski. Traded in a package that brought back Ron Francis and Ulf Samuellson

Edit/add. Ryan Whitney for Chris Kunitz.

The result? Two Cups. One Team.

While you shouldn't just give away prospects, many teams fall in love with prospects who end up dying on the vine.

I saw Dorsett in Pittsburgh a few years back. He looks a little doughy at this point, and his skating was always suspect.

I don't think any are untouchable, but isn't Dumoulin the closest thing to a shutdown -style guy in the system? I know Harrington had some of that in his game from what I've read, but he seems to be more in the middle of the spectrum. I'd hate the trade the only prospect of that type, when we have 3 or 4 D-men who are primarily puck-movers and more similar in style.

Columbus should be stock piling draft picks. Kennedy/Jeffery/2 or 3 rd pick for Johnson.
