So, you read the Penslive article today about what Shero wants and what DB is saying about moving BB to the 3rd line to play wing and getting him to his usual side which is RW. TK at his price point playing 4th line ain't gonna happen. Could they have been more obvious telegraphing their intentions? And also, RS saying that they want a top 4 D-man clearly means Nisky is heading to the bottom pairing or out the door.

Not much of a reach to say TK+Nisky for ??? I think Glass & Engo are safe as we'll need some muscle just in case we get someone like the Flyers in the first 2 rounds.

- Kennedy and a 2nd for Iginla? What is this, amateur hour?

- Maatta and a 1st for Havlat? Holy cow, have you seen Havlat in the last 4 years? And this is coming from a Havlat fan...not remotely close to anything I'd pay or anyone else for that matter...he's has been sorely underwhelming...

Just plain Iggy-ignorance. People that know little about him look at his age and make assumptions from there.

To be fair, it's from the same poster that tried to say that Mike Ribeiro was better defensively than Stephen Weiss...so, with all due respect, maybe it's a just an "out of division, out of mind" thing...

Not only is Jarome out of division...he's out of conference, out of country, and practically out of civilization up there in CGY!

I didn't know coaches distribute ice time based on salary.

Speaking of Paul Martin, I was listening to MM on the radio the other day and he brought up an interesting point. What about trading Paul Martin in the off season so you can use that 5 million to keep Malkin and Letang? The Pens have young defensemen ready to take over, and Martin's salary will help with Letang and Malkin.

Why not keep the player that's playing well and get rid of the players that aren't...?

who isn't playing well on a 10 game winning streak?

Kennedy, Glass, Adams? Whats that like? a little less than 3.5m in Salary? + you have to replace those three

Highly doubt this would happen for a few reasons but at first blush, it isn't so bad.

1. The Pens are actively still looking for a top 4 guy to play with Letang. That means big money spent on the blueline from an outside source and that the Pens ARE GOING TO SIGN LETANG.
2. Martin is obviously your best defenseman outside of Letang and if he isn't the partner for Letang then that obviously means he will be in another pairing to help anchor the blueline.

This makes Orpik the guy i would most suspect to be traded. He's older. Paid 3.75 million per season and isn't the partner for Letang. This is the only guy i could see them moving at the blueline in order to make room from a fiscal standpoint because all the rest either make too little or are too valuable to move.

We're talking about in the offseason, so there's lots of time to decide that. In the playoffs, the cream will rise to the top. My feeling is, Niskanen will be stuck to the bottom of the glass...

Brooks has a NTC and I hope he'll never be asked to waive it.

Jagr with Malkin is still a dreamy scenario. Puck possession city, dish to Neal, mmmm.
