Which one would you re-sign / keep,if they will not be traded, before that already? SALARY CAP goes from 70M to 64M €!
Dupuis, Cooke, Adams Eaton UFA
Bortuzzo, Kennedy, Jeffrey RFA
I would keep Duper (2M/3) years, Cooke (1.8/2years) or Jeffrey and Bortuzzo.

With a discount, Dupuis and Cooke for their PKing and ability to move up and down the lineup. Bortuzzo and Jeffery shouldn't be a problem. Kennedy at the 110%... or the 50%, Naw!

You don't really expect Duper to play for even less than he does now, do you?

predictions:
-cooke will come back at the exact same price for 1-2 more years
-adams will also be back at the same price for some reason
-dupuis will be offered 3 mill from some joke team. and he will accept
-bortuzzo will be back with a small raise
-jeffery will be back at the minimum qualifying raise
-eaton will leave unceremoniously
-TK...if they want him back, they need to pay him 2 mill or more because of the CBA. the only way this happens is if he has a dazzling playoff run.

Dupuis, Cooke and Adams are keepers if you can sign them at more or less the same contract value. They are great role players who have chemistry with the team and do their part every game. That said, if Dupuis gets it into his head that he should be making way more money because he has inflated stats on Crosby's line he will probably walk. I don't see many teams wanting to take on the baggage of having Cooke on their team so he won't be offered more anywhere else anyway.

Discount was the wrong word. Basically add hometown to discount or at a good value was the idea. I think Adams staying only happens if Vitale can't take bigger role on the PK. Bottom six guys really need to have and extra dimension than just 5 on 5 play. Kennedy would have more value if he were able to do that or drop the gloves or something.

- I think Dupuis hangs around but he gets a "thank you" contract of more than $2 million for a multiple years.
- Kennedy won't be qualified (btw, it's just 100% of his contract, he's not due a raise because he makes more than the threshold that requires a raise)
- Adams won't be brought back
- I think Cooke will test the market, might come back for a one year deal if he doesn't find something he likes...
- Obvious RFAs will be qualified and we'll work from there...

Agree about Duper. Cooke is the biggest question mark. I think his PK and intangibles have dropped off the charts significantly, while his offensive production has ticked up. I'd sign him at less than he's making now, but I don't like his value at $1.8m. Would rather invest the $ in the top 6.
Ideally, my 3rd line next season would be Jeffrey-Sutter-Dupuis.

It beats seeing him play 5 on 5.
