Eaton paired with Letang, Despres with Niskanen, according to Pen's website. Interesting. Eaton and Letang have played together before, so that's fine, but Niskanen with Despres means one of them playing on the opposite side that they've been on thus far, right?

It appears you don't/want to believe it. Bylsma has a method to the madness and I think you'll be happy as we get closer to when things really matter on where this lineup goes (aided by Shero of course).
