Anyway, awesome game. Really impressed with the guys tonight. I did not expect them to have this much energy for this game.

That Philly win hopefully has brought Vokoun back to his old self, he looked good tonight, or at least better than he has! He didn't see a lot of action, but that's fine by me, seeing as we normally let him get peppered!

Yeah, pretty easy night for TV. Not a lot of scoring chances at his end. Perfect confidence-builder for him. Now they just need to come out of do the same for Fleury - make his job easy for a game and let him get things on track.

I agree. This game was put on ice with the 2 quick goals to go from 3-1 to 5-1. Basically we never let the goalie (or D) create any drama, although the Boyes goal was one I would have liked to at least see some movement from Vokoun on and was an "oh no" moment for me. He probably was screened by the Pens Dman sliding in front of him though.

The D was pretty good. Isles looked flat, but we can take some credit there as well.

I have been looking for the Pens' goalies to give the D a game where they were bailed out to some extent by the goalie making all the saves that they should along with a few great saves. That hasn't been happening, so I'm happy that the D found a way to give the goalie a night off for the most part by scoring and controlling puck possession.

Last night Vokoun had very few saves to make, and the Pens buried the Isles quickly when they got their lone goal. Previous scripts would have had our goalie giving up a goal to make it 3-2 that would have been the source of a "who's at fault" discussion and started the wheel spinning.

The Pens O never let that happen with goals 4 and 5 in 16 seconds and the Isles basically packed it in from there.
