If no moves are made whatsoever, not that I'm expecting that to be what happens, last night's lineup is what I expect Bylsma to run with if it were playoffs (with geno and flower of course).

We're entering 2nd half of season so I expect to see more of a defined lineup carved out (more despres and eaton and less engelland).

With that being said, I look forward to the posts tomorrow when Engo is back in the lineup for Boston.

Pens will miss Evgeni, he has had some big games against the bruins. But, that 1st line can play.

One thing I have noticed about Vitale...because of his speed and ability to carry the puck, he can at least put pucks on net. Are they always high-percentage scoring chances? No, but it's ideal for a fourth-liner. If Glass/Adams could at least bury a couple of them it would be a different story. Glass has had plenty of chances.

Ive also been really impressed with Beau Bennett. His game reminds me a lot of Jordan Staal, more like a center than a wing, which makes me wonder if he shouldnt be centering the 3rd line and killing penalties like Staal did.

I'd call up Phillipe Dupuis if Malkin is on the IR (or does that even matter right now?) as his career NHL stats are almsot identical to Glass's. It would be good having a competent grinder to push Adams and Glass right now.

More ideally, we get an upgrade over Cooke or Kennedy allowing one of them to slide down to the 4th lines for a more balanced team.

It would be nice to upgrade the 3rd line, and then the 4th gets better automatically.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you've suggested this before and have already had someone point out that Dupuis is injured. I don't think he's even played since mid January? Are you just choosing to ignore that?

By far the biggest concern for the stretch and playoffs. Again, Tanner Glass looked absolutely inept with the puck. He makes Adams look skilled.

Team D is something that is a mindset, but I am not sure that the line's struggles can be tied to a mindset or confidence. I just think the two wings on that line have ZERO ability with the puck, and that results in them being pinned too often in our zone.

Who would you like to replace Glass?

Mike Rupp? Wonder if he could be grabbed from Minnesota for next to nothing?

Probably. I program a lot of Corvettes and Camaros, but find here in Western PA I program just as many trucks for performance as I do cars.

Suggested it one other time and any response got buried. Next time I'll check with you before maybe throwing an idea out there twice, does that work for you?

Obviously the stars shined last night, and although it was against the Isles, who have struggled, it was still the second game of a back-to-back, so it was good to see the jump last night. Good game for Vokoun.

BB looked great, Jeffrey filled in well, and Letang played an outstanding game.

It would truly be a shame to lose a playoff series because of the worthless 4th line this team has. At least two, maybe even tree of TK/Adams/Vitale/Glass need to be replaced, even if it's with cheap rental players, down the stretch. There's got to be guys available who are hungry and want to win that can play a gritty defensive game and occasionally convert a scoring chance.
