Henry Hank wrote:I think Morrow is the Gary Roberts/Bill Guerin figure this team needs. Pretty steep price, but honestly I'm glad Shero is being aggressive. I think back to last year, Philly paid a couple draft picks to get a guy like Grossman, the Pens stood pat. I'm not going to forget Ben Lovejoy being embarrassed in the third period of (I think) game 2 and contributing to the disaster that series was. These D prospects are here to be used as trade assets. There's not enough room for all of them here. Hopefully Shero picked the right one to move.

The motive might be good, but Morrow is not the upgrade, if he does not transform into a complete new player in a Penguins jersey from what I have seen this season.

Hopefully Tanner Glass is traded to give way for a new, more deserving #10.

@EJHradek_NHL: I wonder if Ray Shero is wearing the same ski mask he wore when he got James Neal out of Dallas? #fleecedagain?

Morrow is gonna be pretty excited to have a new opportunity on a winner. He's the embodiment of winning, a real warrior. He doesn't have Guerin's offensive upside even, but Morrow is a quality piece and a good fit for the team I feel. Let's see how the coaching staff will use him.

Morrow was traded to the Dallas Stars on March 24th, 2013 for another dude with the same last name.

If we don't win the cup, we will all feel really salty watching Morrow sign in Dallas at the end of the year.

I guess Shero is pretty sure about the other D prospects and/or that he can sign both Malkin and Letang.

Morrow would be a good fit on either the 2nd or 3rd line. He can work the boards and get the puck down low and dish it to the true scorers. He can also play well in front of the net.

Morrow has slowed down, but I wouldn't classify him as "slow." I'd say that he is too slow to play with Crosby, but Malkin's game is a little bit slower and he can fit in there or with sutter.

Morrow's time in Dallas is done. They're starting something new there. He'll re-sign here and ride into the sunset if all goes well. #rejuvenatedcareer

I think this sets up the F depth pretty nicely. Kennedy as a fourth liner should give that line an extra boost and having internal competition among him, Glass, Adams, Vitale should bring more out of all of them.

Now they just need a D upgrade and they'd have the roster to go on a run, I think.

I think everyone here, and especially the Pen's offices knows what's going on. No reason for salt.

I don't think the door is open for Morrow to go back to Dallas. He may not stay here, that's one thing, but I don't think this is a Tkachuk or Weight situation...I think the Stars are moving on from the old guard and at a pretty rapid rate of speed too...

I don't know if Morrow will resign here, but he won't be back in Dallas. They traded for Cole to directly replace him and Jamie Benn just got the captaincy. It's his team now.

Wouldn't surprise me. It's happened before with the Pens. The fact that he had to take some time to consider waiving the no trade probably means he's not a guy keen on moving around. If he likes it in Pitt and fits in well, I'd bet on him sticking around. That also makes giving up Morrow more palatable because you're not just trading him for a rental in that case.

Once they traded Ryder for Cole, it was pretty obvious Morrow was done in Dallas.

Sure, but conceptually, you don't draft players in the first round to trade for 3rd line UFAs approaching retirement. That's not the plan.

The team must be sour on morrow.
