I scored a puck signed by Geno and one signed by some guy that doesn't even play for them anymore.

Spoiler:
Mario Lemieux.

most of the post here are pretty good. I feel like I should have gotten one now. Maybe next year. It's hard to justify spending that kind of money, but I guess you need to look at it as a donation and not care what your getting back.

My daughters were in the Lemieux Family Center/Childrens Home for a while, so anything I can do to help Lemieux charities I do. The fact that I got some Pens items is just a bonus

I think that would be the key.. I mean.. to be honest I'd be pretty bummed if I got a few of these bags for 250 bucks.. but the money goes to great cause. Course, as broke as I am I don't have to worry about that

Don't you get charitable donations refunded on your tax returns?

If you receive goods in return then it technically doesn't count as a "donation," so no, you shouldn't get refunded for that.

This

When I went to Lemieux camp this year I got a letter that had an amount of what I paid for in goods and what was considered a donation. Not sure if the bags have one of those.

A single 250 won't budge the taxes much. Might save a dollar or three in tax but not much else.

I looked at it as a good cause, and because last year was good to me, kind of a why not. I'd do it again next year if this year allows us the freedom to be able to do it. That Pens items came back in it is a bonus.

I will say, the bag itself far exceeded my expectations for the bag. It's really well done.

^ agree 100%

I didn't really get much in return from the camp either. But like you said it's not about the gifts its about helping a good cause. Trust me the bag was a lot less then what I had to give.
