I thought this last night: a bit of a slewfoot, but not necessarily intentional.

After the way he played last season, Brent Johnson will never play in the NHL again.

I'm fine with still blaming Gionta.

healing vibes to Flower! post game, Kris Letang post-game quickly said , he 'll be alright. I am hoping there was secret french language sharing between him and Fleury.

Going in ice-cold, Vokoun, heck of a finish.

I don't know, it looks like Gionta lefts his left leg when Kennedy makes contact with him. Is that because he was put off balance slightly, or because he wanted to trip Kennedy? Only Gionta knows.

My question is, who would have gone in if Vokoun would have went down in the 3rd and MAF couldn't come back??
Antwan Randall-El??

This is why the Pens picked up Doug Murray. :D

He straps them on, and voila, you've got the third goalie.

I thought he faced 0 shots. Isn't the sv% impossible to calculate? I think 0 is more accurate than 1.000%.

Isn't there a league rule for this type of situation. The pens could select someone from the stands or something? Possibly one of the trainers suiting up?

Dana Heinze played for Johnstown in like the 80s.

All they need to do is sign him to a 1 or 2 day contract if they need him.

gionta's left leg tells the story. that's not at all a natural way for a dude to pull up. he meant to knock kennedy off balance, and it's likely that he specifically meant to knock him into his goalie. i think the intent is pretty clear. but at the same time, it's a play that's not usually going to end with a neck meat injury. so i get why some people don't think it's a big deal.

It looked intentional to me and it looked intentional to the Penguins. His hit on Reimer looked pretty questionable too. I don't think Phaneuf got that much of him and neither did the ref. He turns into Reimer in almost the same motion he used to turn and push Kennedy into Fleury. I'm not sure that I'd want the reputation as someone that runs goaltenders - could lead to some serious problems on the ice for Gionta.

Kennedy runs in behind Gionta and gionta's leg moves upon that contact. There is no "push". Gionta did nothing wrong.

This is exactly what I'm seeing. Kennedy runs into Brian's leg.

Gionta tripped Kennedy, that is not a a move you make to stop in front of the net.

My HS coach drilled it into me feet wide, stick on ice. Look at ryder, that is what you do when going to the net. Also you don't see the 5 seconds before this clip where gionta is even with kennedy and knows where he is going
