This is pre-emptive (and not directed at you, PB):

The notion that one player like Despres has a significant effect on win/loss is just as absurd as me blaming the last two losses on him.

Hockey is a team game. 1 rookie defenseman will not make or break a game.

So the $5.00 question is, does Mr Tang play tonight vs Tampa?

You need a young, hungry player like Despres for the playoffs. He's got decent speed, big body. Like I said before, he's better than Mark Eaton at every category besides his experience and positional awareness. How does Despres gain those 2 things? By getting a chance to play.

Instead, dirt scrub Engelland gets all his minutes. Engelland is already peaked. I think BOTH Despres and Bortuzzo are already better than Engelland, but instead Good Ole' Dannie never sits his piece of junk Fringe players.

NO other coach in the league would sit Bennett for Kennedy and sit Despres for Engelland. NOT 1 OTHER COACH.

I'm 100% Certain Eaton will be exposed during the playoffs, and I like Eaton. As a #7. Not top 4.

I really do enjoy jumping on the Engellend-hate bandwagon now and again, but I truely do find myself struggling to look for the really good qualities in his game. When he has space, he can actually move the puck quite well, but the problem is that he doesn't get a lot of space, and he'll have even less in a few weeks. Just single him out at some point during the game and watch only him...if there's any pressure on him at all behind the net, it's pretty much a guaranteed turnover, and many times it leads to a scoring chance for the opposition. I'm with Nizzy. Engellend should not be in the lineup over Despres. I'm certainly no coach, but I just cannot see one thing that gives us an advantage with Engellend over Despres?

Doesn't matter as long as the clueless head coach continues to play the wrong tunes, I guess.

Pretty much gonna stop any opposing forward coming into the slot with the puck. Perhaps not such a bad idea? Would the ref give a penalty shot for that?

Eaton has been the best defender when it comes to stick work and positioning, with the exception of Martin, all year. And I don't even think it's close.

I'm pretty sure he's been good to go for 2-3 games now. In that span we clinched the division and 2nd overall in the East. I think his next game is Wednesday at home vs. MON

Got to make sure that groin is 100%. Did anyone ever confirm that his toe was actually broken? Could it still be his groin? I did not think a toe would keep him out this long.

It's called a groin-toe. Like a groin vault, only a toe.
