Penguins roster after the trade deadline

Postby danish_penguin on Thu Mar 28, 2013 8:57 am

Right now these nine defensemen are on the Penguins roster:
Despres, Simon (waiver exemt)
Eaton, Mark
Engelland, Deryk
Martin, Paul
Murray, Douglas
Niskanen, Matt
Orpik, Brooks
Letang, Kris (injured reserve)
Bortuzzo, Robert (on a contioning stint with WBS)

When Letang is back again, who do you think will be the odd man out as number eight and nine. And where will they go? I think that Engelland will be traded before deadline and the Penguins will go with eight defensemen after the deadline, where there is no roster maximum. I fits perfectly, that Letang is back and Bortuzzo can be recalled from his conditioning assignment after the trade deadline. and hopefully Malkin will be back around that time.

The the roster will look like this:
D Robert Bortuzzo
D Simon Despres
D Mark Eaton
D Kris Letang
D Paul Martin
D Douglas Murray
D Matt Niskanen
D Brooks Orpik
C Sidney Crosby
C Dustin Jeffrey
C Evgeni Malkin
C Brandon Sutter
C Joe Vitale
G Marc-Andre Fleury
G Tomas Vokoun
LW Matt Cooke
LW Tanner Glass
LW Chris Kunitz
LW Brenden Morrow
LW James Neal
RW Craig Adams
RW Bennett, Beau
RW Pascal Dupuis
RW Jerome Iginla
RW Tyler Kennedy

And it's likely that Kennedy will be traded also I think.

Thats pretty good roster. The best in the NHL!

Kennedy in a limited ES role on the 4th line with Adams and Cooke and 2nd unit PP is perfect for him for a Cup run. If anyone else like Crosby or Kunitz can play the PK instead of Glass, who isn't that good anyways, along with Cooke, Dupuis, Sutter and Adams then I take kennedy hands down over Glass.
