I know this is crazy juju, but I actually was instantly worried upon learning we acquired Iginla. Are we tempting the hockey gods? We're on an unbeatable winning streak, often without some of our best players, and we go out and acquire the best player on the market, after already spending big to get 2 top guys? The hockey gods do not favor hubris.

First Paul Martin. Now this.

The Penguins should be able to make it through the Rangers or Devils or whomever in the first round, but the hockey gods have evened things out considerably.

Yes I am crazy. But so too must be the gods.

You tried lol haha you tried to put tyler kennedy on the 4th line, over Vitale. LMAO!!!!!!!!1 HAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAH BYLSMA'S LITTLE GRINDER TIGER ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE BUT 3RD LINE CENTER.

Why are you the way you are?

Mentally unstable.

This is a really good thing, Crosby's jaw getting smacked by a puck. Penguins need some adversity. Need a challenge. Still 12 games left before the playoffs. Need a 2-3 game losing streak or something before they get hot again. IT's all about peaking.

The bone heals in 3-6 weeks, and typically regains 80% of it's strength by week 3... This is regardless of method per wikipedia. So, he could resume playing in 3 weeks, granted he can stay in shape.

I've also read that when the patient lacks teeth, it is hard to wire it shut. This is of course my amateur research .

I think he'll be fine as well.People around here seem to expect the worst.

With a Crosby injury, shouldn't we just assume the worst until told otherwise? :scared:

Crosby tougher than people give him credit for.No worries he'll be back well before playoff time.

I remember hearing this before :pop:

Relax. Holy crap. I can't believe someone can get this worked up over something. It sucks but at the end of the day its just a game.

No its not a game. My various sports teams give me more happiness and enjoyment than the vast majority of other things in my life. Its not a game...its a big deal. I am crushed by this.

Additionally "high velocity injuries" can often require external fixation. It's all speculation on my part..and everyones for that matter.

Coffey broke his jaw in 91 and came back relatively fast wearing a shield I believe. We'll be okay.

It would be highly unusual for an organization to abandon a particular jersey because of bad luck, but it's honestly gotten to the point where it should be seriously considered. But please.. PLEASE.. no more baby blue jerseys! I always thought that those were hideous. In terms of style and aesthetics, I'd much prefer the dark blue, but there's the whole curse thing.

On the other hand, I really liked the green jerseys that they wore for St. Patrick's day. Nobody else wears a green color like that. And considering all of the bad luck the blue one's have brought us, why not go with the luck of the irish for your third color!?

Assuming there is no other bad news that they haven't released, he will be back for the playoffs. As someone else mentioned he is having more dental work later this week, they wouldn't be doing that if his jaw is wired shut. Give him the 4 weeks to heal, chances are he will be skating before that, and he will be ready to go for the first round of the playoffs.
