Rossi and Yohe have said on the radio that Crosby will more than likely be skating next week and could actually play the last few games. Coming along well it seems.

Next step...Potato Perogies at Gooskie's in Polish Hill.
On second thought, Sid might get some sort of infectious disease there.

OH MY GOD...

Somebody has to make a sign for game one of the playoffs with that on it.

I enjoyed the zombie picture that made the rounds...of Crosby with his jaw falling off. that would be a good sign to go with that!

Bylsma said no set date for sid to start skating.
I know that can mean a bunch of things, but im starting to think sid may not be around for the first round.

All it means is that Sid will start skating when the doctors say he can. Until then, all he can do is let his jaw heal.

Correct, but lets just say he skates this week like he has said he hopes to. My guess is that it will take 10 days to 2 weeks before hes ready to return. If that's the case, then he wont be back until the start of the playoffs. If he cant start skating this week then I really dont see him being available for the first round.

Sid hoping to skate this week hopefully means his doctors gave him a hint that he might be able to do so.

I doubt it'll take him that long to come back once he starts skating. It's just going to be a matter of shaking off rust and getting into shape. It's only been two weeks, it's not like he's been out for months. This also isn't like his concussion comeback where he had to go through a stepwise progression of activity. There's still two and a half weeks until the first round even starts, and the round itself is another week in a half to two weeks. Seems very unlikely that he wouldn't play at all in the first round. Most likely bet still has him coming back for a few regular season games and ready to go for the playoffs.

I think Sid may well start skating next week and even be in shape to get a game or two in before the playoffs. I don’t think he’s one to get ahead of himself, so if he’s sounding optimistic that he may soon be back, then I think he must have received some indication from the doctors that this is a real possibility. Fingers crossed.

Let's but this in perspective: if Crosby didn't touch ice for another week (so next Saturday, Apr 20), that's still 11 days of skating before the end of the month.

Historically, the NHL likes to end their season on a Sunday and start the playoffs the following Wednesday. I'm anticipating them starting Wednesday May 1 regardless, but even if they stuck to that system they'll only start on April 30. There's absolutely no reason to suspect that he won't be ready to go for the playoffs.

Hard to believe that Sid has been injured for two weeks today and he still has a 4 point lead in the scoring race.

Stammer and St Louis pointless tonight. Would love to see Sid back for the last couple games (I think he'll be back before round 1 starts) to at least put up a fight for the Art Ross.

If each go ahead is dependent on a doctor's green light, setting a timeframe is impossible. Sid certainly hasn't spoken or carried himself as someone who plans on being out long.
