Without Sid, this is closer to the 3rd line than the 1st line, regardless of who centers it

TK shoots to much to complement that line at all. Kunitz and Dupuis benefit from a cycling puck control style and getting off a great shoot. TK would be best on a vertical line if he could actually learn to be patient with his shot i would like to see him play with morrow in front of the net.

Except those were the lines at practice. Maybe it's Bylsma's April Fools joke on us...

I like Jeffrey but he hasn't done much in Malkin's absence. This option also doesn't disrupt the 2nd or 3rd lines in the meantime. I don't mind giving TK a shot there because if Jeffrey dresses he can jump right in there anytime if need be, which I expect to happpen.

I am really suprised TK is centering that line hopefully he learns to pick his shots better. I would even prefer vitale centering that line over TK

I like TK. I don't think his play meshes with dupuis and kunitz. I would love to see him prove me wrong. I would love to see TK play with morrow shooting with him in front of the net.

I HATE it for now, but I like it for the line consistency in the long run.

Keeps everything the same... Pens aren't desperate for points now, but rather want to be rolling come the playoffs. Putting in Vitale or TK is the right move imo... Let Morrow,Sutter, Cooke click

If Kunitz and Dupuis can change their game, they can fit with TK and become a fine 3rd line for a month if need be. Malkin's line would be a 1st on any other team anyway and Morrow-Sutter-Cooke is a solid line as well. That gives us an even strength 1, 3, 3 and 5, so if the defense and goalie play maintains, that is fine to keep us in the race for 1st. Since we can't realistically move lower than 2nd, it makes sense to keep the lines as stable as possible to build chemistry. Sid's line has that down and TK is likely to move to the 4th line when Sid gets back, so why not keep as many lines as possible like they would be in the playoffs?

What I don't like about the lines is keeping Iggy on the left.... IIRC that line started to do really well when they moved Iggy to the right / Neal can play either side well

I would love to see Iggy taking one timers from the right circle and Malkin taking one timers from left circle on the powerplay.

Yeah sorry, but if Sidney Crosby isn't playing...

Malkin is #1 line.... And if that's not the case and Tyler Kennedy is getting more minutes, I'll **** flip out.

Sutter should be bumped up, not Kennedy....he's just not the playmaking center you want. We'll see. :face: :face:

sutter and cooke need to learn to play with morrow. kunitz and duper are going to have a severe drop in production with anyone other than geno, even sutter. no one is suggesting that kennedy is a long term replacement. i have confidence bylsma will manage the minutes properly, and we're probably going to see a fair ammount of double shifting anyway.

I'd rather play shorthanded for a shift with only Kunitz and Dupuis at forward than see Kennedy on the 1st line.

Sutter isn't a playmaker, neither is DJ or Vitale. That line would be a fire wagon and only temporary at that.

You need to keep Sutter with Cooke and Morrow so they can develop chemistry for the playoffs.

yeah, all that would accomplish is ruining TWO lines. Sutter is not really a scoring line center. not saying kennedy is, but the fewer people we have miscast, the better. kennedy will still probably get his customary 10-15 mins, and kunitz & dupuis will see additional special team minutes, as well as the odd double shift with geno.
