Oh and the LA Kings (that team that just won the cup), had 2 guys over the age of 30. Scuds (33) and Gagne (31).

Don't fix what isn't broken.

Then why have they 'broken' what seemed to be working pretty well in Neal on Malkin's RW? Seemed to be working pretty well last season.

Nash and his centerman lead the Rangers in scoring... not sure if serious.

And now compare those stats to the Kunitz, Crosby, and Dupuis line.

Maybe because it isn't working this season?

Iginla,Malkin,Murray,MAF and PK teams were good, rest of the team wasnt that good. Niskanen was playing bad, especially his blind pass for first Sabres goal was really dumb. Stupid penalties and some weird calls by refs..
Neal looked lost a bit on Geno-Iggy line, Kennedy doesnt belong on 1st line, especially as C,Jeffrey was better in that role after that.
Despres looked ok,one mistake that I saw, otherwise better than Eaton,Niskanen and Engo.. Orpik finally playing with edge again in a few last games.

I really hope we can re-sign Iginla,he seems to be super good locker-room guy and he is a presence on ice, bigger than I expected. Works hard, gets in empty slots to shot, hustles along the boards...
I havent seen him play for a while, soo Im very happy to see that we actually got still good future hall of famer, not a player in a decline as Im afraid is a case for Morrow.

For next game I hope we see :
Kunitz - Jeffrey - Dupuis
Neal - Malkin - Iginla
Morrow - Sutter - Cooke/TK
Adams/Glass - Vitale - TK/Cooke
x - Glass

What about bumping Neal down to the 3rd line as a message not to take stupid penalties. Morrow-Malkin-Iginla is still like a super ridiculously awesome line.

Nothing needs fixed except for healthy players and time for lines to sync. You guys are trying to play magicians. Give the current setup some time to become accustomed to playing together.

Sid makes that line work. It's painfully obvious when he's injured. Just like Malkin makes his line work which is painfully obvious when he's out. Dupuis doesn't make Crosby, Crosby makes Dupuis. Don't forget that Crosby turned Colby Armstrong and Andy Hilbert into guys that looked like actual top 6 wingers.

I just believe Kunitz and Dupuis have years of playing with Sid and know exactly when and where to be to be successful on the ice. I want nothing to do with messing with that.

Also HCDB juggles lines, you will see them together eventually.

Shero is reportedly looking for someone to help with faceoffs and PK... I really don't understand why Vitale hasn't cemented his spot.

vitale would have taken what, like 5 or 6 faceoffs if he was in the lineup. and according to his averages, his presence would have given us a whopping 1 extra win last night.

this is why mike zigomantis isn't in the league. not only is the difference between a good and bad faceoff man about 1 extra win per game, but as a 4th liner who isn't much of a penalty killer, you only take a small amount of them anyways.

Because they decided not to move Duper and put Iggy on Geno's line. If I were Neal I'd say the same thing, it is a sign of respect - point being no-one would have to move to a new position if Iginla were with Sid.

Neal also said he would switch to point/rover on the PP, just because a player says he will do what the coach asks doesn't mean it is right.

Is Vitale a bad PK ? :?: I dont think so.. Trading for another PK player isnt what I expected.. We have a lot od players capable of playing good solid PK - Adams, Glass, Dupuis, Cooke and soo on..

DONT BREAK UP THE FIRST LINE ,EVER!!! :)

Yeah, he's always been streaky. I think he will get back to form, but needs to avoid taking the stupid penalties.

Bullpucky!! He's doing well in the roll he currently has. He has been physical, going to the net and controlling the corners. He is perfect for the 3rd line with Sutter and Cooke.

Whaaaaa?????
CERV96 wrote:-Kunitz needs reunited with Malkin and Neal.

The Malkin/Neal/Iginla line was FANTASTIC last night! They showed great chemistry and were making things happen all game long. Leave them be and let them get comfy for the playoffs. Great things await. Kunitz and Dupuis were actually doing okay with whoever the center was for them for that play. They will be fine until Sid returns. I do, however, think Jeffrey needs to run that show until then.

You might have noticed that when Malkin is injured Neal slips into his invisibility cloak, and as mentioned above it is Crosby who creates the best line in hockey, not Dupuis.

He is better with the puck, faster, better hands, and a better shot. Why we would deliberately hurt our offensive chances to play someone as slow as Morrow I have no idea. Every team in the NHL gives kids a chance, and so did the Pens when they won the cup with Staal and Sid and such. You can't have a full team of geezers.

Bennett will not do what Morrow will in the playoffs. Everyone jumping to conclusions right now needs to temper their thoughts until the Pens get to the Show.
